Daughters Soninlaws

The patriarch Daksha had by Prasuti twenty four daughters : hear from me their names:

  1. Sraddha (faith), 
  2. Lakshmi (prosperity), 
  3. Dhriti (steadiness), 
  4. Tushti (resignation), 
  5. Pushti (thriving), 
  6. Medha (intelligence), 
  7. Kriya (action, devotion), 
  8. Buddhi (intellect), 
  9. Lajja (modesty), 
  10. Vapu (body), 
  11. Santi (expiation), 
  12. Siddhi (perfection), 
  13. Kirtti (fame): 
these thirteen daughters of Daksha, Dharma (righteousness) took to wife.

The other eleven bright eyed and younger daughters of the patriarch were,

  1. Khyati (celebrity), 
  2. Sati (truth), 
  3. Sambhuti (fitness), 
  4. Smriti (memory), 
  5. Priti (affection), 
  6. Kshama (patience), 
  7. Sannati (humility), 
  8. Anasuya (charity), 
  9. Urjja (energy), with 
  10. Swaha (offering), and 
  11. Swadha (oblation). 
These maidens were respectively wedded to the Munis,

  1. Bhrigu, 
  2. Bhava, 
  3. Marichi, 
  4. Angiras, 
  5. Pulastya, 
  6. Pulaha, 
  7. Kratu, 
  8. Atri, and 
  9. Vasishtha; 
  10. Fire 
  11. Pitris (progenitors)
