He has taken five avatars or incarnations that are hideously important . These incarnations have been assumed to be the most valuable and effective for his devotees. The five incarnations are Tatpurush, Namadeva, Aghoresh, Sadhojat and Ishan. In this article, we would be narrating about five important avatars Lord Shiva had taken to save the righteous people from the bad forces in nature.
- Tatpurush: This avatar is the most popular incarnation of the Lord Shiva. According to Hindu mythology, Lord manifested himself in this avatar in the 21st Kalpa of the planet known as Peetavasa. This has been found to be mentioned in the prayer of the Lord Brahma.
- Naamdeva: During the previous period or 20th Kalpa, Lord Brahma got his complexion changed to red with the appearance of another entity during his deep meditation. This new God’s name was Namadeva. This new God was also regarded as another incarnation of Lord Shiva.
- Aghoresh: In the Shiva Kalpa, an entity in black color complexion was also mentioned in the prayer of Lord Brahma. The universal creator had named this entity as Aghor Shiva. He is also considered as another form of Lord Shiva by the experts in Shiva Puranam.
- Sadhojat: During the 19th Kalpa, which is known as Shweta Lohit, there appeared an entity by the name Sadhojat when the Lord Brahma was meditating. This is considered to be the first incarnation of Lord Shiva by many saints in Hindu religion. Four disciples of the Sadhojat also had appeared to Lord Brahma at the time of meditation. Their names are Nandan, Vishwanandan, Sunand and Upanandan.
- Ishan: In the Vishwaroop Kalpa, there is a mention of Ishan. This is another form of the Lord Shiva and Saraswati. Four divine entities like Mundi, Shikhandi, Caste and Ardhamundi were manifested from the Ishan Shiva, according to Shiva Puranam.
